Permanent Collection at Herb Lubalin Study Center of Design and Typography

January, 2016

BDA Principal and Professor of Graphic Design Communication, Frank Baseman, was humbled and honored to have work included in the permanent collection of the Herb Lubalin Study Center of Design and Typography at The Cooper Union, New York. Herb Lubalin was—and still remains—one of my deepest influences, an amazing inspiration and design hero (go ahead and look him up)! As a young designer still in school, I vividly remember being enthralled by FREE issues of U&lc (Upper and lower case), and entranced by the magnificent work presented on those newsprint pages, largely executed by Herb Lubalin himself. To even be remotely associated with an institution bearing his name is one of my deepest honors. There were a number of pieces given to the collection, among them this poster for the Seymour Chwast lecture.
